Good luck filling your meat coupon Jerry. We are allowed 3 antlerless a day here from archery open at the end of Sept until rifle ends in January.

Wow.

3 per day.

That just seems amazing to a guy from the tundra here.

We are still only allowed one deer per year. No matter if you bow, rifle or ML hunt or all of the above, you still can only take one deer per year.

A doe permit just means you can take a deer of either sex so when the chips are down on that last day of the hunt and a doe walks out you can take her to fill your tag.

Yes 3 a day in liberal zones. Our rifle season typical runs about 6 weeks too. If you hunted in a liberal zone and only rifle and purchased your type 94 permit you would technically be allowed to kill about 120 antlerless with rifle alone. There is no draw to be eligible just go anywhere licenses are sold and buy the permit when you buy your license for an additional $28. Lifetime license holders and landowners don't have to buy the permit.

Doe tags have been a controversial topic here in IL. Currently there is no limit to the number of tags that can be purchased over the counter (archery). There is no limit to the number of antlerless deer harvested. However, only 2 bucks can be harvested in one season. In some public draw areas I hunt it is common to see 20+ deer during an evening hunt. Some of the other areas I hunt you might not see a deer at all. I wouldn't argue if a four deer per year limit was imposed.
