gt2003
I'm still using the TM Hunter style of arrow rest. I've had 2-3 instances now of the silicone covered prongs making noise when drawing and scaring of deer (Gold Tip 5575's if arrows matter). I'm looking at either quieting this rest or buying a new one. I've had the QDM HDX recommended to me but that baby is expensive (but worth it if it quiets things down). Can I get recommendations on what arrow rests you all use that are extremely quiet when drawing. Thanks
wtnhunt
Whisker biscuits are pretty quiet.
Rhino
There are a lot of options better than the old TM Hunter rest now for hunting. Anything from drop away rest to whisker biscuit style rest. Just depends on how much $ you want to spend. Drop away rest can run from ~$50 to $150. A whisker biscuit is ~$40 and no offense to those that use it but it's virtually idiot proof. I use an Octane arrow rest like the one below for hunting. It's similar to a whisker biscuit but the vanes never touch anything. The only downside to it is if you shoot a lot, you will find yourself changing out the brushes (mainly the lower one) more often than you would a whisker biscuit. I keep spares in my bow case. If I were shooting competition, I'd shoot a drop away rest. Edited November 8, 2016 by Rhino
TheHawkeyeState
When I bought my current bow it had a whisker biscuit and I thought I would give it a shot. Didn't like it much so I put my QAD drop away rest from my old bow on the new one. It is 6+ years old and still works just fine. Take a look at QAD rests if you decide on a drop away. They have a wide range of price options too. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Stinger-Hunter
Whisker Biscuit - I'm a big fan. The less movable parts the better.
dbHunterNY
don't get the HDX then. go for the QAD Hunter that's closer to $56 bucks it's close to the same rest. all my bows have QAD rests on them now. I'm not a fan boy of anything. they just simply work.

pointing_dogs_rule
QAD Ultra-rest HD is what's on my bow. Cost $139.99. In the past I used whisker biscuit. Groups were not as consistent. I switched to this "fall away" rest. I am glad that I did and I would not go back. The whisker is OK, however, in my opinion this is much better. No arrow contact after the release and a true arrow flight. Also no sound on the draw or release. The rest is covered in moleskin. Cost more then I wanted, however, a good choice. ODH
I still use the old Mathews fixed rest that cam with bow back in 2006. Works well for me and is quiet. Not saying I wouldn't upgrade in future
