wal mart end of season deals

Great time to pick up stuff you may need.  Had been watching two man ladder stands at our local store, last Sunday when Catrina was in the store they had two left at $88.  Wednesday morning had one left shoved way up under the back of the bottom shelf at $64, in my buggy it went. Watching a few other items, they were pretty well cleared out on muzzleloading stuff.  They have several crossbows and crossbow accessories down on the first cut about 30 percent off, guessing this week they will mark them down again.  Anyone else taking advantage of end of season deals?

Unfortunately our Walmart stores in Canada don't sell a whole lot of hunting supplies. Some cheaper line clothes, limited amount of ammo and air rifles, a few trail cams etc. I did notice Cabela's had some decent deals, haven't made my way into the city recently though. Probably a good thing too! LOL

Our local Wally world doesn't carry much either. They have one isle for hunting stuff and it has camo clothes, deer hunting stuff, duck hunting stuff, backpacks, upland stuff, turkey stuff, a weird assortment of arrows and broadheads all crammed together. They usually have two treestands on the shelf....one is a little bitty hang on, and the other is a short little basic ladder stand. Even on-line it doesn't look like they have much this year.

Wal mart in Edmonton has one or two stores that sell Savage and Mossberg. They do have other hunting equipment but I hardly make it to that end of the city.

I've never seen a Walmart carry guns here in the Ottawa area, bigger Canadian Tire stores do though.

Still on their first cut here as of yesterday. Asked the person working sporting goods when they will markdown again and she had no idea.

I can't build a set of climbing sticks or a ladder stand for what they sell them for, steel and rod cost me more than what they sell them for not even counting the time and utility cost to fire up the welder.  Had a few items I will be sure to check back in for.

2016 model barnett crossbows and accessories at half price this morning, the raptor marked down from $399 to $199, they had a few other models too.  Had a few hangon stands left also at half price.  Had a few gorilla harnesses at half price, almost bought one of them, might grab one next time I am there if they still have any.  Still a lot of stuff like scents and attractants on the first markdown.  They still have a crap load of cheap camo clothes and a few of the bugsuits that have had pretty good reviews, all a few dollars off.  Did pick up a crank for my crossbow at half price.

Close William - $25.00, which I felt was too good to pass up. He'll only wear it hunting which is about 1-2 weeks out the year so it should last him throughout high school.

After I dropped my kids off this morning I had to pick up some things from walmart for mom, so of course I ran through the hunting stuff real quick.  All the raptor crossbows are gone, still had several of the lesser priced models.  They had that same jacket for $21 at our store in several sizes, had the matching bibs down to $30 also in several sizes, I probably should have grabbed a pair of mediums for Catrina.  All the harnesses except one youth were gone.

My son lost his jacket that he got for Christmas at school Tuesday and noone there knows where it went.  He is very picky about what he wears, has to be soft and no collar.  Picked him up a couple realtree lightweight fleece type jackets at $9 that had been $20.

Last week picked up a Buck Commander target for $20. This week they have the Morrell Bionic Buck and Deer targets, which were around $250 down to $150, so I picked up a bear for my collection. Also picked up a Realtree AP snow camo shirt for $4. They have alot of their mineral/attractants marked down. There was also NAP Thunderhead 100 grain broadheads for $9

Was still quite a bit of odds and end stuff here last week, a lot had not been marked down a second time.  Scents, mineral attractants and a lot of clothes that would not fit me.  lol.  Almost picked up a leafy bug suit  https://www.walmart.com/ip/Realtree-Men-s-Leafy-Bug-Suit/44782575 for $19, was on a marked large hanger but looked at the tags and saw it was a small /medium.  Probably pick up some active scrape scent and deer cain next time I am in there if they still have any left, stuff was 25% off, should be 50% off very soon.  Gonna look closer at broadheads too, muzzy 3 blade 100 grain 3 packs were down to $9, shoulda put em in my buggy.  There were rage and several other mechanicals half price as well.

Good to check different Walmarts. I know in my area...they all carry some different stuff and some carry more hunting stuff than others.

Yep, this is very true.  Not sure why that is exactly, the old gun counter manager at our local store told me a few years back that they lost all control they had at ordering, that stuff was sent to them.  The store closest to us, about 15 minutes away in this small town of around ten thousand, has a much better selection usually than the store about 30 minutes to the south of us in a town of about 6 times the population.  Check both.  Another store about 25 minutes away usually does not have near the selection our local store has either.
