Winter fun

You get some miles in this year Shaun? I was in Minnesota a few weeks ago and was hoping to get hop on my buddies sled for a few hours, but ran out of time.

That place looks awesome Frank. I only skied one time in my life at Hidden Valley and wasn't too good at it lol. Always wanted to try snow boarding though.

After deer season ends I spend the rest of winter chasing my kids to all the sports stuff they do. My 13 year old daughter plays travel softball, which is basically year round. They take off November and December, but are back to practicing now and indoor tournaments start in about 3 weeks. My 10 year old boy plays club soccer. He is also practicing and indoor games for him start in a few weeks.

Tim, I've never been to Hidden Valley but my son broke his arm there a couple years ago at a school skiing trip. I hear it's pretty lame and not a good place to learn. If you ever want to take the kids I recommend Chestnut mountain in Galena IL. I've never been on a snowmobile or a snowboard. Would like to try both someday.

No fun in the snow in this part of the country.  Been a long time since I snow skied.  When I was younger, I went a lot.  I don't have 2 good knees to do it anymore.

In the winter part of the offseason I'm getting all my accounting ready and organized to get it to my CPA to prepare tax returns.  Not fun at all but it's something that has to be done.  Turkey season opens here on March 15th so I like the get the tax information to my CPA so I'm free to do a little preseason scouting and hunting when the season opens.  I also do some post season scouting for deer too and loosen or pull stands before the warm weather moves in.

I'll keep that in mind Frank. From what I remember about Hidden Valley is it was like skiing on a snow cone. Just crumply ice all the way down. As a newbie i couldn't control where i went or when I stopped at all lol.

Beautiful pic Frank!!

I did downhill skiing when I was in elementary school before high school. Haven't been on skis in probably 17 years, since I graduated grade 8 in 2000.

I don't do many miles on my snowmobile Tim, just use it around the farm here. Haul wood out of the bush, and now my 16 month old daughter loves going for rides. She calls it the doodoo lol. Hopefully one of these years I will find some time to trail ride! It's an expensive sport. Trail pass is nearly $300, insurance would be about the same, then the gas. 91 octane non-ethanol right now up here is $1.22/liter which is $3.50/gal USD. And that 700cc 2 stroke is far from fuel efficient, it drinks gas like a big block chevy lol.
