hammerforged
I know I said in my other post that I was looking for an English Setter pup but I made my weekly troll through the local animal shelters today and this fellow struck a chord deep within me. Hopefully he will be coming home with me on Saturday. The shelter has been calling him Scratch but as he is just barely a year old I think we can work on changing that so - any suggestions? He is a mutt, looks like he has some Lab in him and maybe some boxer because his coat is mostly brindle.
wtnhunt
Those spots on the legs, he may have some heeler in him. Heeler and chocolate lab mix maybe. Dunno about a name but good luck with him Ross. The stray i mentioned in your other post turned out to be an outstanding dog. Wish we knew exactly what breeds she is. Shaun_300
Nice pup Ross! I don't know my dog breeds that well other than the more popular ones. From the head down he looks like a brindle for sure! Maybe some lab like you said too. I've always liked the name Ruger for a male dog. Turkeygirl
Nice looking pup Ross, congrats! I'd like a chocolate lab someday. For names, I'm not sure: Browning? Cedar? Flint? I do think there is a better name out there for him than Scratch, and you'll find it!
im your huckleberry
Not sure what name to suggest, my dogs usually ended up being unnamed for a month. In the end it was named according to their personality.

Shaun_300
That's a great name for him Ross. Great pics! Our lab didn't know what to think of our daughter when we brought her home. She'd always move away if she touched her for the first year or so. Now they're best buddies.
hammerforged
It was funny when we put my grandson Jonathon down on the floor - Bowie looked at me like he was asking for permission, when I said it was okay he laid right down next to Jonathon and proceeded to let Jonathon pull and pet on him. Never growled or moved away or acted aggressive in any way.
RangerClay
Wow, he looked much smaller in your first picture. He is actually full grown. If he gets along that well with kids then you have a winner. Good luck with your new family member.
