My daughter Lilly age 7 harvested her first whitetail this season and I videoed it using my GoPRO and posted it to my personal Facebook page for my family and friends to enjoy, little did I know within two days we were receiving worldwide attention and within a week we had racked up nearly 50 million views on Fox news alone! Obviously not all of the publicity was good but overall we received an overwhelming amount of support for both hunters and non hunters and I received literally thousands of messages stating how we had inspired them to get their children into hunting. This experience has really been eye opening for me and I feel that we have an opportunity to do more hunting and filming to both educate and inspire the future generation of our sport. Now I know it is wishful thinking and maybe even a little far fetched to think that I could start from nothing and end up with a successful outdoor youtube channel or even a TV show but I am a dreamer and this experience has inspired me to give it a try. The way I see it is there is two possible outcomes, 1. We succeed and provide enjoyable content to the masses that enables us to spend more time doing what we love with who we love or 2. We fail and only provide enjoyable content for our family and friends that we will have for a lifetime. Either way we are winning! We genuinely enjoy all things outdoors and spending time with our children and Since my daughter has reached hunting age I have really started to enjoy video and video editing, mostly because she wont let me pull the trigger anymore. That being said I am looking for support from the hunting community to help us by liking, sharing and subscribing to our youtube and facebook page. I also know that I have a lot to learn when it comes to video editing and getting good footage but I expect that to progress quickly as I produce more videos, there is a lot of experience on this forum and I would like any advice or constructive criticism you may have to offer. Thanks in advance and have a blessed evening!

Welcome to the forums.

Usually posts from new members who appear to post for the sole purpose of promoting their own site or interest are deleted unless they have permission from the site administrator(Scott Hughes).  Stick around and be a contributing member and share stories with us and post away and don't think anyone would complain.

Far as the video, looked fine, only criticism I may add is a cutaway to the deer would have been nice to see to see what she was looking at before she shot.

Welcome aboard!  Very cool to see your time hunting with your daughter has inspired others to do the same.

Can't say I have any useful experience with video editing.  I'm a novice and rarely haul a video camera with me hunting anymore.  Too much extra weight for an old fart like me.
