Is winter done already or will we see another hard cool down?  Had one snow event here all winter.  Not supposed to see below freezing temps for the rest of February, not complaining, gonna appreciate the lower electric heat bill and also the grass coming in will cut down on my hay usage.

Usually spring here gets kicking with the bradford pears coming in and the redbuds and then the dogwoods, usually all later in March.  Have peach trees flowering and some of the bradford pears around are in full bloom here now, this is the middle of February?  Redbuds,, dogwoods and fruit bearing pears and apples appear to still be dormant though.

Maybe ol Phil the oversized rat was wrong.  Spring springing where you are yet?

I think we will see another cold snap before it is all said and done but I gotta tell ya, I am NOT liking these mid to upper 70 days.  It is hard enough forging in the main heat of the summer, the winter gives me some relief and makes it easier to stand in front of that forge.  I am worried for the Peach and Apple farmers, if the peaches and apples start to blossom and we do get another cold snap that would be disastrous for them.

Man, I don't know what to think about this winter. I think we normally average about 14" of snow through a winter, and have less than 2" so far this winter. It has been consistently in the 60's and a few days in the 70's for the past two weeks now. Our average high is about 49 degrees this time of year, and it was 60 when I left for work this morning. Hopefully this doesn't carry over and give us miserable hot summer. Some of the yard plant are turning green and getting buds. At this rate I'll be mowing grass in another two weeks.

It's supposed start raining shortly here straight through til Sunday, and be 55 degrees tomorrow and Saturday, unheard of in February here. That's early April weather for us! Short lived though, but still staying a lot warmer than normal for next week. mid-high 30s daytime and high teens low 20s at night. December has been our harshest month yet.

Yes William we'll be saving on hay like you said. You should see the cows up here eat to stay warm once it gets cold! We only have 3 right now with their young ones they had in June/July. Been averaging a round bale every 4 days, and it hasn't been too cold, below say 10F for a few weeks. It disappears real quick when it's 20 or 30 below!

Still winter here.  We received over 40 inches of snow last week and then had freezing rain to top it off.  There has been alternating snow and rain every day since with highs in the mid 30's and lows in the teens. The mountain snow pack should pay dividends come late spring and summer for keeping the fire season at bay.  Sure is hard on the deer, elk and moose to move around and find food under the current conditions.

Last night we had thunderstorms that were better than any normal summer thunderstorm I've seen in a long time! Crazy to have lightning this time of year here. Rained hard all day today, and dropping to 20 degrees overnight. Might be able to put my skates on in the morning and go for a skate in the flooded fields:p

I so hope we do not not get a late frost again. Last year we had ZERO apples on almost 30 something trees. A wicked Tornado like storm came whipping through Saturday afternoon. Most of our snow is all melted except northern areas.

Its all Trumps fault:p

Had to crank up the AC here today.

Thought we might have to here yesterday too, but knew this cold front was coming so let it get a little warm.

Pretty bad storms rolled trough last night and into this morning, high winds.  A barn about half a mile up the road lost its top, was mangled metal and lumber with nails across our road this morning.  If it were straight line winds, don't know that the tin would have been so twisted, but dunno.  Roof was about 90 yards away from the building and looks to have flown over a double wide directly in between.

Gonna have to mow my weeds and wild onions this weekend here, don't think I can recall ever mowing the yard this early before.
