I was going to cut the grass today but rain is coming shortly and it's only 36 degrees at the moment, I think I'll stay on the couch today. Sure has been a wet spring for us so far! Temps have been up and down as usual for this time of year. It was 82 on Thursday and we had the air conditioning on in the car, and today I woke up to 34 degrees and I put a fire on in the woodstove lol.

Man, we have been getting hit hard with rain. We had over 5" last weekend, and probably another 3-4" yesterday. It's not supposed to stop until early tomorrow morning. Low areas are dealing with some hard core flooding. Even highways have been closed not too far from here. Today we have 30+ mph winds and a high of 48 degrees. Feels more like late October than early May. Furnace has been running the last few days.

Worst flooding I've ever seen here this spring. Water levels are insanely high, so many homes lost and complete carnage along the Ottawa River. Also all the waterways that feed it, including the lake my grandma lives on. The water level is 6 feet higher than normal. Lots of homes and cottages lost in eastern Ontario and western Quebec.

Things seem to be getting better though, water levels are going down slowly. We were in the high 80s yesterday and Wednesday. Right now its in the high 40s. Cold front moved through last night with some pretty high winds and a minor thunderstorm. Must have knocked a tree onto the power line, we lost power early evening and it didn't come back on until early this morning.

Pretty windy here today but thankfully there is. Climbing up to the high of 90 with a feels like temperature of 100. Hottest day of the year so far. Just finished my garden planting and knocking about 150 yards of hay down with the stihl brushcutter to run an electric fence. Think it's time to get the shorts on before I jump on the lawn tractor!

Crazy storms all over the eastern and southern half of Ontario this weekend. Tons of tornado warnings. There was a warning for around 50 miles west of us yesterday afternoon but everything was going northeast into Quebec before it ever got to us. Did get some rain though, had to stop cutting the lawn. I'll have to finish that and do my whipper snipping today. Looks like a beauty day today, low 80s and no rain in the forecast. AND I'm off. Woohoo!
