Mathews Legacy 4 Sale/Trade

Folks, Bear with me here.

I recently purchased a Legacy from an AT member, as I have always wanted one. I got it, set it up (a couple different ways!) and have been shooting it. Unfortunalty, this bow and I do not see eye to eye! I cannot shoot near as good with it as I do with my Fred Bear Epic Xtreme! THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BOW! It just don't fit!

I am CONSIDERING either selling it outright, or trading for another bow (see below). I am putting this out there to "feel the waters".

The Legacy is a 2003 model, right handed, 60 - 70 pound draw, 30 inch cam (swapped out this week from the 29 incher it came with). It will be a bare bow deal. The bow shows signs of paint wear around the grip and where the Mathews quivers (2 different ones!) were attached, as well as under the sight and rest (not noticable when equipped with same). I just put brand new string suppressor on last night, and have the old ones too. I have pics I can email, but can't post quite yet (DSL in the mail baby!)

It will come with Limbsavers, a string loop, a Limbsaver hand thingee in front of the grip, a Mathews hat (worn a handful of times), Mathews video, Mathews Keychain, and a Mathews Deer Hunting Magazine.

For sale, $425 dollars Shipped! (pricey, I know, but I just put the new cam, suppressors, and tuned her, so I would like to recoup SOME of that scratch)

Would be willing to trade for;

PSE Primos STL with NRG cam (even trade)

Similar short axle to axle bow in right hand - (Fred Bear Epic Xtreme, Buckmasters G2 or G2SL, etc) plus cash.

OR - would be willing to swap and pay cash for either an Outback or similar.

(Not too picky am I?! )

Re: Mathews Legacy 4 Sale/Trade

NY911.. I totally understand you about not being comfortable with the Legacy . I just went through tha exact same thing. Stepped in a great deel on an Outback, so I sold the Legacy. The difference between the Legacy, and the Outback is night and day! I am so happy I made the switch. If you haven't shot the O.B. yet, give one a try. I'm betting you will like it. It is a lot smoother, and it seems less agressive drawing it, and letting it down. I shot the O.B. side by side with a Switchback, and they were very, very similar.

Good luck finding another bow!

Looking at a new OB or maybe a SB.

BUT - HONESTLY - My Fred Bear is the best shooting bow I have ever shotted!

If you are comfortable with the Bear, and it works for you...why change. I honestly thing you will be impressed with either the Switchback, or the Outback.

When I switched to the O.B. from the Legacy, I was able to pull the same draw weight, much easier, I gained 7 fps, at the same draw weight, length, and arrow. and it was much smoother drawing, and shooting.

Re: Mathews Legacy 4 Sale/Trade

When I shot both the Switchback and Outback, I said set them at 65 pounds. I wasn't quite sure how hefty 70 (or whatever they'd max out at) would feel on the short bows. I was stunned! I almost jumped over the counter to test the draw weight myself. 65 pounds felt more like 45 or 50 pounds...it was unblieveable!

CHRUD - R U shootinga Mathews now?!

Probably in about a week or two. I have almost $2000 stocked in my checking account. I have my Carter Two Shot Release, I'm ready to go shoot the O/SBack's again. I'm leaning more towards the Switchback. If I got the Outback, I'd put a Baracuda string on it right away. That's another $100, so it would already be more than the SB. It would get me to 316 IBO with the OBack then, but we'll see. I like them both a lot. The one thing that really sticks out with the Outback is the incredible rock solid wall.
