Turkeygirl
Wondering if anyone hunts with a .410 shotgun? If so which one? In the back of my mind, I've kind of wanted one for small game hunting. Shot one once while helping with a hunter safety class. Today at a bow shop shooting league, they also have guns and had apparently gotten in guns from an estate sale. They had a Remington 11-48 .410 semi-auto . I have to say, that gun held really nice, but being that I shoot guns left handed, this gun was for a right handed shooter and the safety is trickey. Anyhow kinda keeping my eyes out. Shaun_300
Personally I've never owned one, but that's what dad received from mom for a wedding present, that's been his grouse gun ever since, so 33 years. There's been a heck of a pile of birds killed with that gun over the years, I killed my first grouse with it, believe I was around 10. It's an over and under, more inexpensive overseas brand, that's not coming to mind right now lol. Kassanar or something, that's it! Other ones I've shot have been the Remington 1100 and 870. Both are very nice, literally zero recoil on the 1100. Only thing I don't like about them is the price of ammo. Last I saw it was over $20 for a box of shells! I'd definitely be investing in a reloader for it if you were planning on doing a lot of shooting with.
MUDRUNNER
I have an older New England .410 single shot. I think I was 11 or 12 and got it for Christmas one year. I actually haven't shot it in years. I need to get it out for the kids to shoot this summer. I killed many a rabbit & a truck load of squirrels with it when I was just a little shaver. I remember even knocking down a few quail.
Strut10
A Browning BPS .410 would be just what the doctor ordered for you, Ruth................. Rhino
Haven't hunted with one since I was a youngster (over 50 years ago) and that squirrel hunting with my grandfather. Don't recall what make it was. Our neighbor in MO turkey hunts with his .410. His attitude is...decoy them into the 20 yard range. Last time I looked, I recall .410 shells were more expensive than .20 gauge shells...maybe more the 12 gauge too.

dbHunterNY
nope. only use a 12ga and 20ga. another gun isn't a bad thing. great for youth and usually compact for small game hunting in thick brush. lightweight too.
