EastTnHunter
Been a good year so far every morning I've been out I've heard birds on the roost. Last Saturday I got on this bird on the roost but he flew down with hens and I couldn't get in front of him. This morning I set up where I saw him strutting with his hens and he put on a show. He gobbled a lot on the ground and I never saw or heard a hen but when he crested the ridge and didn't see my decoy he started heading back the other way. I hit him with a kee kee yelp cut yelp sequence and he quadruple gobbled. He came into view spotted my decoy and the show began. I watched him strut for about 10 minutes and when I decided he wasn't coming in closer he turned away from me in full strut. I got my gun up hit him with 2 cuts he raised his head and I rolled him at 25 yards. Those longbeard #6's are deadly. 9 1/2" beard 3/4" spurs 19 pounds. fly
Congratulations! Would love to have a 10 minute show before taking one out. All of mine have been shot within a minute or two from the time I saw them.
