Saturday morning, I slept in. We didn't get home until after 1:00 a.m. from Atlanta and I was just too tired to get up and go. My brother, Ronald, killed a nice 10 point around 8 am but that was pretty much it from the club that morning.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON:

Debbie and I got in our stands about 5:15 or so. We were on the Rackley line. We saw squirrels and birds but no deer. They had definitely been in the 1/2 mile food plot but weren't around for the afternoon hunt.

At dark, we left and went up to where Ronald and Brandon were waiting. They hadn't seen anything either. None of us had heard much in the way of shots so we figured the deer just didn't move much. Ronald's son Brett, Brett's girlfriend Briann, and Ronald's wife, Cindy drove up. They had been hunting Ronald's powerline food plots. MAN did they have the report. Brett and Briann and seen 15 in the 4 acre plot and Cindy had seen 6 in the 2 acre plot. There were 2 or 3 bucks in the 4 acre plot. Briann was going to take the 8 but couldn't get a good shot on him.

Dan and Cody drove up with the same report as the rest of us.

The deer had moved they were just all at Ronald's plots.

Sunday afternoon report

I decided to hunt the "head stand" this afternoon. It is a tough one to hunt, the same one I saw the nice buck from opening afternoon of bow season.

As I was climbing up into the stand, I heard a deer snort and run off. About 7 pm I saw a little 4 point buck and then another deer unidentifiable. After climbing down, I heard another deer run off between me and the road. That is a good place for the deer but a tough place to hunt. I've got to re-evaluate to see if there is a reasonable way to hunt in there without always spooking the deer.

Other reports from the club this afternoon:

Ronald and Brando saw nothing.

Brett and girlfriend Briann saw a few deer but no shooters.

Cindy saw some does (I think).

Cody saw a doe and yearling I think.

Mr. Harold saw a doe and 3 or 4 yearlings.

Not a whole lot to report, but, a good HOT afternoon nonetheless.
