RangerClay
We all know what has happened with Gander Mountain. If you have a gift card you must redeem it by May 18th or it will become invalid.
wtnhunt
Wow, actually did not know about this until now Joe. Thanks for the heads up. Not a fan of theirs anyway and honestly not surprised, they are waaaay overpriced compared to all others. With their poor customer service dunno how they have stayed open as long as they have, see and hear complaints about their staff and management and have dealt firsthand with their poor service. Supposedly the store nearest us is to remain open, need to get my barnett crossbow in to get an in warranty repair taken care of but may just go to the next closest authorized warranty repair location. Good luck to all getting their money redeemed.
MUDRUNNER
Thanks for the heads up! I don't believe I have any GM gift cards. We have a store that opened not too far from me about 2 years ago. Like William mentioned, not much in there that interests somebody looking for a good deal. They do have a great gun selection and occasionally a decent sale on them. I had heard that store was staying open, but it's not on the list as of yet. Another store a little over an hour from me in Missouri is on the "stay open" list. Kind of confusing on what's going on. I got an e-mail last week saying all stores are liquidating.
RangerClay
The new owner is the owner of Camping World stores. From what I gather the new owner is making several demands of all locations. They include lower rent and a certain minimum wage (I believe $12 per hour). If their demands are met by lease holders and local officials they will keep their stores open. Not exactly...The FTC put a halt to the merger to investigate it. Then things started getting screwed up. As I understand it now Bass Pro lowered it's offer and the merger is supposed to happen the 3rd quarter this year. The merger doesn't include Cabela's financial division. That's going to a financial company that will then flip the credit card portfolio to Capital One Financial. You'll probably get a welcome note from Capital One. fly
Applied for a Bass Pro Card last week. We have a Bass Pro and Cabela's within 10 minutes of each other. If Cabela's goes so does my Cabela's card.

Guess the news reports stating the store nearest us was to remain open was not factual, nor is the usa today link posted above. Went to take my crossbow by there this morning and big signs all over "going out of business" and "store closing". Oh well we walked through and looked at their "deals", looked like they marked their retail prices up 25 percent on a lot of stuff then threw on 20 percent off discounts. Clear by their inventory that they are clearing the place out. They did have some very good prices on some AR15's, not something I really needed though. Needless to say there was not a sole in the archery area, and I did not feel confident in leaving my crossbow at that store. Guess I will either have to send the crossbow directly to barnett or will have to take the 45 minute to hour drive to the next closest authorized repair dealer.
