Well, the school year officially ended for my kids this week. I know to them a school year seems like forever, but man to me the years are flying by.

Long weekend coming up for most people..what are the big plans?

We have a weekend off from sports, so plan do a bit of nothing at some point lol. Pool party at my sisters tomorrow afternoon if the rain & storms hold off. Hoping to get the yard mowed in the morning. The swing set in the back yard is getting pretty sketchy, so might build a new one Sunday & Monday to get that knocked off of my honey do list.

Time flying by for sure.  Our kids ended their school year on Wednesday.

Just me and my 6 year old here today and most of the day tomorrow, pool water is too cold for him especially with the wind, was hoping the water would warm up more.  My wife and the girls took off this morning early headed to Greenville Texas to see my wife's cousin graduate high school, they got there a little after two this afternoon.  They are coming back tomorrow, hopefully they can get ahead of and stay ahead of the weather driving back.  Smoking a pork shoulder tomorrow.  Maybe the pool water will be warm enough to get in Monday.

Had a real busy day yesterday trying to get some things done before it rains again and before the girls took off, supposed to be potential to get nasty here Saturday late and into Sunday.  Have 16 cows that are overdue to be wormed that I will probably have to put off until Monday when there is no chance for rain, seem to never catch a break when I have them caught or the weather just does not want to cooperate.  Crazy winds here today, but the sun is out.  Have 8 or 9 trees in the yard I need to stake down, may try to get my son to help me with that tomorrow morning if the weather holds out.

My wife has a music gig tomorrow night and church choir on Sunday so we opted to not go up to the lake this weekend.
I will continue working on the house. But I got the rest of the parts to put my tractor engine back together so will work on that too. 1970s Ford 3 cylinder 201 ci diesel for a tractor I'm building out of parts from 4 different tractors I parted out. It will be similar to the one in the little picture by my handle (Ford 4000) but I will use some componants from a couple industrial models so it will be shorter and lower - for bush hogging.

First check-in for me.  Fridays are usually 12+ hours at work but I'm off this week.  Went over to Coeur D' Alene, Idaho for a niece's graduation and turned it into a longer trip on the way home as we detoured through St. Ignatius to visit our daughter.  She is teaching there on the Flathead Indian Reservation and is finding it a tough go, but there is only one more week of school and that will mostly be proctoring final exams.  I spent most of today in the mountains looking for an opportunity to fill my bear tag.  No luck on finding a bear but it was a beautiful day.  As for the weekend, it's time to mow the lawn again and then clean up some trees I had cut down earlier this spring.  Monday we will be watching the granddaughter as my son has to work.  Might just take her fishing at one of the local fishing ponds.  No camping or lake time this weekend as all the crazies will be out.  Hopefully, everyone has an enjoyable and accident free holiday, and doesn't forget the reason we have this holiday.

Last weekend was our holiday weekend in Canada, this weekend is just my normal Sunday and Monday off. Saturday after work I mowed the lawn and went to my local Stihl dealer to narrow down what whipper snipper I want to buy, tired of the el cheapo's with no power.

Sunday, Kayla and I went into Ottawa so I could get a new phone. I've had the Samsung galaxy phones for years, well last summer my S6 took a swim in the Ottawa River when I was on a service call. Ended up getting a used iPhone 5c for a decent price to get me through top my contract was up for renewal. Finally back to Samsung now, got the S8 yesterday. Love it so far!

Today it's pouring rain unfortunately, was hoping to get the garden planted but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I guess my daughter and I will have an inside day. We can entertain each other pretty easily.
