Ultradog
The 2017 deer hunting regs are out today. It looks like the area we hunt has hunters choice - no doe permits required this year. Nice. Of course we'll hunt for bucks the first two weekends. But it's nice to have the option of taking a doe if no bucks come along by the 3rd weekend. We had a fairly mild winter last year so the herd is up this year.
wtnhunt
Good luck with it Jerry. Have not seen the new handbook here yet, but imagine we are still in the liberal 3 doe a day unit.
Shaun_300
Here in Ontario (eastern Ontario anyways) we are given one buck tag and you apply to have it valid for antlered or antlerless deer.
sskybnd
Ours is the same 2 bucks and 4 does, or 6 does, normally it's putting meat in the freezer the first week or

wtnhunt
Can usually pickup the new handbooks at the end of July here, have yet to lay my hands on one. Walmart had none the past few times I have been in there. I checked online though and appears there are no real changes for us. Allowed 2 bucks total statewide. Being a landowner hunting my farmland I am still allowed to kill 3 does per day from archery opener on Sept 23rd on up until season end Jan 8th with no license required. Only exclusion to that is the youth hunt weekend during which the season is closed to all hunters except the youth deer hunters. After season closes in January there is another week of special "antlerless" on private lands. In this state you get your hunting and fishing license in the spring and then can add the different weapon endorsements; big game archery, big game muzzleloader, and big game gun(covers spring and fall turkey as well), then you can get a supplemental type 94 to allow you to kill up to 3 does per day during the gun season. With having taken my buck limit last year, will likely have a little higher self imposed limits on what I will be willing to take this year. There was a pretty special buck that we got pics of after season ended last year, with no pics of him I have no idea if he is still around our area this year, but I should know if I see him. Dorothy Payne
I would take my chances and hope I could scurry up a tree faster than the bear... None of those would be very effective without a lot of luck and repeat shots, and I don't think I would like to go hand to hand with mean ole Mr. Bear. It's like my buddy says, "I don't have to outrun him. I only gotta outrun you!"
