even with brakes......

Dunno why, but seems when I have a load on the trailer there are no shortage of idiots out that seem to wanna get t boned.  I mean does this look easy to stop?  With brakes on both axles I can usually stop ok in not much if any more distance than the truck stops with no load.  Last Saturday coming off a hill with about 7000 lbs of hay on the trailer, was accelerating in the left lane and had gotten to about 50 when I had a semi with a 48 ft trailer pull out of a parking lot into the middle of the 4 lane highway angling at me heading to traffic going the opposite direction.  Left me pretty well nowhere to go and hitting the trailer probably would have not been a nice scene.  Luckily there was nothing in the right lane I ended up on the shoulder.

Of all the folks driving  that know how irritating it is to have some idiot pull out in front of you a trucker should be the most understanding, that one needs his license taken away.  Glad I am done for this summer.

Kinda had same thing happen last Sat. met Andy & Ash at Bruce Crossing Mi. (half way), headed for home I got on M28 heading west, and meet an RV ahead coming east, a vehicle is passing it, and as he pulls infront of RV, right behind him is a late passer coming strong almost ready to pull in. One problem,  Im in that lane too, unless I move it's a head on! I dropped off the right side onto the shoulder, and we all met three abreast, I never lifted, kept my left side tires on the edge of pavement, held there a bit to make sure truck settled down...then eased it back onto pavement and never looked back.

Wow I drive trucks right at the moment and can assure you that I have never cut anybody off like that. I alway make sure that I can at least get up to 30 before I will pull out in front of anybody. In Canada it's usually our fine East Indian drivers that do that, for instance they will come up to a stop sign and slow down and pull out without even stopping. They also keep going hiway speeds even in urban areas, seen one take a speeding ticket last week in northern B.C. Young drivers starting out are no better they feel they have something to prove, the damn load or the the money they are getting is worth taking someones life or your own.

My old trailer doesn't have trailer brakes.  Had i been pulling it and that trucker pulled the same stunt would have been a very bad outcome.

Not just young drivers unfortunately.  Seems to be more and more idiots on the roads these days that just don't care.

Yup,... most truckers wont do that, prob some young Super Trucker "Cowboy".....

Come to western PA sometime........................

The average coal truck driver is BY FAR the most ignorant critter on the road.  They can do whatever they want right in front of you and they know it.  And they do it...........  They're quite aware that a car or pickup truck will lose any tangle with a tri-axle dump and will have to accommodate WHATEVER it is the big truck does in front of them..........

There are a few that have a conscience.  But they are rare.................

Yup way too many idiots on the road nowadays! Everyone is in a rush to go nowhere!

Don, both times heading to South Carolina going down I-81 through the PA mountains, the truckers were crazy!! There had to be some doing 90mph down some of those hills. Then you'd have to pass them going up the next hill lol. All semi trucks are governed at 105km/h or 65mph by law in Ontario and Quebec.
