Hey thanks.  I didn't make it out yesterday, it was just too damn warm.  It was about 85 degrees and 85% humidity.  It was the first opening day I've missed in years.  I usually go and sit more for a ceremonial thing but I didn't want to get it all stunk up.  I will be out there after work today.  I can hardly wait for that first deer of the year rush.

We finally had a little break from the heat, and I made it out for an evening hunt. Ended up getting skunked, but it was nice to be back in the stand. Checked my cameras but so far nothing bigger than a few two year olds. Hopefully the corn comes out soon that surrounds our farm and pushes the deer into the timber. The weather is suppose to warm back up to near 80 for the next week or so which is a bummer.

Anybody seeing any deer? I have not been able to get out much, but that should start changing soon. I plan to hit it pretty hard over the next 3 or 4 weeks. I don't have anything to brag about on my trail cameras yet, but now that the pre rut is starting up and the corn is out bucks should be on their feet.

I finally got a morning hunt in yesterday. Weather was perfect...29 degrees, calm, clear morning. Got settled in the stand an hour before shooting light, and had deer all around with in minutes of turning my headlamp out. By the time the sun came up they had moved on and only seen a doe & fawn the rest of the morning. I probably won't get out again until next weekend.

Hi guys!  Finally starting to see some rut activity here.  I got a doe last weekend with my bow.  The next two weekends I will be hunting with my crossbow.  I very very excited because these next two weeks will be crazy with buck activity.  Tomorrow morning is going to be about 30 degrees and clear.  It's the first real hunting weather we have had.  I know the deer will be on their feet.  Wish me luck.
