How about a 10-6 Friday check-in

So naturally this weekend is a busy one for us, and I doubt I'll be able to get out and hunt. Tonight my 10 year old has a soccer game, but he rolled his ankle at school yesterday so not sure if he'll play or not just yet. Tomorrow the wife has to work, so I got roped into working a fundraiser at a pizza joint for my daughters travel ball team. Sunday she has a little one day softball tournament that should burn up most of the day.

On a bragging note my daughter played her last softball game for the middle school yesterday. She hit .571 over 24 games with 3 home runs. They finished 3rd in the southern Illinois state championship. The next time she plays for school ball she will be in high school.....man they grow up quick.

What are the plans for the weekend? I feel like everyone will be hunting except for me lol.

Things are crazy dry here.  Kinda glad i hadnt planted my fall plot yet.  We do have rain in the forecast for the weekend and upcoming week though so gonna try to get my clover and rye plot in tomorrow morning.  Had planned on putting in about 200 lbs of the wintergrazer rye in a section of pasture but am doubtful i get to that.

Have a couple welding projects to try to work on that i can work on in the garage.  Pull behind spreader had the main bar break last weekend while spreading lime, if i don't get it patched together and working plots won't go in.

Doubtful i will be doing any hunting but may try to shoot a hen with the crossbow if i can get a chance to.

Still too hot to hunt here.  Ran cards on Wednesday and have several hogs cleaning up the corn.  One doe with two yearlings have also made an appearance.

Have friends coming over tomorrow for an evening of entertainment.  Sunday we'll prep everything again for a Cowboys game get together with the same crowd.  Spare ribs, burgers and boudin are on the menu for Sunday.  Tomorrow's menu is of the liquid variety. :D

Got the clover and wintergrazer rye plot in, but ran a little short on the clover seed.  Put down 10 lbs of clover, need about a lb more to finish one little strip about two half passes with the walk behind spreader.  Had issues with the tow behind spreader gearbox with fertilizer, but worked through it.

On to some welding projects tomorrow, need to build a 3 pt trailer mover and a heavy panel for cattle handling leading into headcatch chute. also need to add some pieces to my chute for a but bar to keep the cows from backing up.

Not much this weekend. Had our thanksgiving dinner with my family last night. Still full from turkey dinner lol. Been raining all weekend and just stopped a few minutes ago, might try and get out to the treestand this evening if it stays dry. Have tomorrow off too since today is the holiday and Mondays are my day off. Supposed to be sunny and 70 tomorrow so may try and get the boat out one more time before I have to winterize and shrinkwrap it for the winter. Need to get some more firewood cut too so may work at that a bit tomorrow too.
