Turkey Day check-in

With most everybody have a long weekend I thought we would do another early check-in this week. What are your plans for the long weekend?

Tomorrow the plan is to get a few hours of bowhunting in before heading to the in-laws for Thanksgiving dinner. I should be home from hunting in time to see the Vikes stomp the Lions. Friday I plan on sleeping in and relaxing. The wife & daughter are going shopping, so it will just be me & the two boys. Saturday it looks like I will be able to take my daughter out with the crossbow for her first hunt of the year. Sunday she has softball practice but other than that not a whole lot planned.

Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving!

Everyone have a happy Thanksgiving.

Plan to hunt some.  Had a little 2.5 year old 7 come through early this morning then later had a small doe bounced around by something that i think was probably a good one but no clear shot.  Same 7 i have seen a few times now, same one our 12 year old passed up.  Had to get down about 9 to come back and get food going and take care of animals.

Christina(our 21 year old) is home but has to go back to Knoxville this evening.  Gonna eat about 1. Wife or I one will go this afternoon.  Probably try to get our 12 year old out some this long weekend.

Shot groundhog this morning after i got back, first one i have ever seen here.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving! I went out before light and sat for a couple hours. It was a beautiful and cold morning. Had a deer walk by me about 30 feet away, but it's so thick where I was all I could see were it's legs. It never showed itself, but I'm fairly certain it was a small Doe that's been hanging around all the time. I know right where she likes to be, so I'll keep that trick up my sleeve for ML'r.

I got home fairly early and began the family festivities! After the parade we made up a whole batch of appetizers for lunch and then prepped for the big show, lol. I like to fry a turkey for the holiday, this years came out better than ever, along with some sweet potatoe fries, and all the goodies. After dinner bonfire and then on to the pie! I hope you all had as great a holiday as we did.
