too_pointer
I am getting a new Savage bolt action rifle, and it has been , well over 20 years, since I have had one. Would like to hear opinions on what lube would be good to put on the bolt, and the action around it ? I want it to be as smooth operation as it can. Thanks ahead of time. wtnhunt
Usually use rem oil here. Doesn't take much, little on the rails wipe away any excess. Depending on which gun dictates where else you may use a drop here and there. In my experience the manuals that come with the guns often will show where to use oil and how much to use, I try to follow those suggestions as closely as possible. stevebeilgard
All the advice is good. But, I'll add that if you are hunting in below zero temps get as much oil off as possible.
