The 4-27 Friday check-in thread

It looks like a fairly busy weekend for us. Emma has a tournament this weekend. One game tonight, two tomorrow, and elimination play on Sunday. This one is only about 45 minutes from home so we get to sleep in our own beds. Evan has baseball practice tomorrow morning, and his first game of the season is Monday. I'm sure somewhere along the line some wild animal will be cooked with fire and a beer can will be opened. The weather looks a little chilly, but some nice sunshine will make up for that.

How are everybody else weekend plans shaping up?

Trying to find a bird for my Niece, snowed all day here, heavy WET flakes....much of the snow has melted off this past week, other than shaded areas etc.,  JD / Polaris deal;er has open house Sat., prob go to that, then get my huskvarna rock rake out and get after gravel on lawn from snow plowing.

Our son turned 7 today, time sure has flown by.  Dunno when my wife is gonna be home, but this kid is chomping at the bit to open his presents.  Supposed to be a pretty weekend finally.  Girls have some different stuff going on, so will be my son and I home tomorrow until after lunch.  Probably take him outside and play in the yard and try to clean up some stuff.

Hopefully will dry out some, have a lot I need to do around the yard and need to mow.  Our oldest is getting married in one month, backyard wedding, too much to do and time is gonna get away from me.

Turkey season opened last week for us here in eastern Ontario, have never hunted them before. Going to give it a try this year though. Went Saturday after work and bought a couple box calls. Haven't got out yet the weather just hasn't been good. Very windy the past couple days, I hate hunting anything in the wind since I can't hear anything. May try this evening since it's going to be sunny. Spring finally decided to show up. High of 73 tomorrow and 77 Wednesday. Should get the lawn in good shape since we just got a couple inches of rain last week.

Headed over to Quebec later today to get some new tires for my truck. Picked up a set of 20" wheels off a Sierra Denali that I'm going to put on my truck for summer wheels. They have a good sale on tires at a shop over there.

Other than that we didn't do too much this weekend. Went for a Sunday drive yesterday. Turned into an unplanned 230 mile adventure through the backroads. Ended up at my grandma's, had a visit with them then stopped in at my parents on the way home. Really impressed with the gas mileage in my truck. Averaged 20.2 MPG, and there's a lot of 8-15% grade hills on the route we took!
