wtnhunt
Welcome to the forums. I don't know of any states that have a deer season open this time of the year. Where are you located, what state? If season were open, 2 hours of clearing and cutting would not bother the deer enough not to go on and hunt it.
Rhino
Agree with William (wtnhunt)...deer tend to return to their home turf fairly quick after any disturbance that might cause them to relocate. Not sure what state you're hunting either that would have an open season this time of the year. The states I've deer hunted in all have a fall/winter season. fly
Could be bear hunting. I'd wait till fall to hunt any land where I'm at in IL. The weather is nasty hot and humid.

HeadShotX
Overhunting stands was probably my greatest downfall as a young deer hunter, and through the years, I’ve caught myself slipping back into that same trap more than once. Initially, it was out of necessity. When I first started hunting, I only had a small 30-acre woodlot to hunt, and the thought of waiting until the conditions were just right never crossed my mind. I loved to deer hunt, and I made sure I was out there every chance I got. That resulted in me hunting the same areas over and over and, as you might expect, I saw fewer and fewer deer as the season progressed.
