MUDRUNNER Posted May 25, 2018 Report Share Posted May 25, 2018 It is a long weekend with most people being off Monday for Memorial Day. What are the plans? We actually have a softball free weekend, so a little free time for a change. I plan to mow & change the oil in my truck tomorrow morning. I am putting a little batting cage in the unfinished part of the basement for the kids, so may get started with that project. My sister has her pool open and the water is warming up, so we are going over there for beer & barbecue on Sunday. Monday we might just chill at home and enjoy the day off. Hopefully it will all hold out or at least timing will be on our side. Our oldest(Christina) is getting married on Sunday, backyard wedding behind our house. Guest list went from 40 something earlier this week to closer to 80. I smoked 5 7-8 lb boston butts over hickory and have 2 whole 6 lb chickens going now. Getting some help from some ladies from our church with catering not sure what all they are fixing but hopefully will be enough, thought 50 lbs of meat with the chickens should have yielded enough but might be cutting it close. Still need to mow the yard and put down some granular lawn poison sometime today before it rains. Have a load of stuff I need to move around to hopefully give us enough parking space where it will be dry or at least no chances for guests getting stuck. Probably be in the pool quite a bit after all is done. Have 150 lbs of gly resistant soybeans I need to get in the ground. Afterwards I have some friends coming up and we'll find a sandy spot somewhere, beach the boats, set up the BBQ pit, burn some meat and let the kids swim. Space Station is going over after 9 pm this eve... 90 here at 2:30 p.m. got some mowing to do as we got an inch of rain Thurs. heat makes everything jump fast..got all the crops in before rain perfect timing we planted 3k acres beans/ corn/ winter rye/ spring wheat/ Barely/and Hemp(for oil seed) cant smoke this stuff..lol Edited May 25, 2018 by Mathews XT Man Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Strut10 Posted May 26, 2018 Report Share Posted May 26, 2018 Well.........all outta turkey tags, so it'll be a working weekend. Million things to do and no time to do them. Have a bunch of mowing to do but have to figure out why one of my deck pulleys is chattering. We're getting ready to think about moving and there's just SO much that has to be accomplished before then. Have a pretty monumental amount of landscape repair to do at the new place. Would like to get some new wire cages around various trees at the Strut10 Ranch. That's just for starters. Lol !! And I'm hungry for a grilled steak, too......
