Rhino
Due to high back water flooding from the Mississippi River I couldn't get to one of my trail cams after the season closed last year. The cam was on high ground but the only access was through the flooded area. When I went to set my cams recently here in MS I finally got this cam. To my surprise, these bucks showed up in front of it in March this year. Antler shedding is usually in mid March in MS. I'd never gotten any of these big ones on a cam before then. Pretty good bucks for Mississippi. High hopes I can find them this season in Mississippi. Heading to Missouri on August 23rd to run our cams there for the 1st time this year there. wtnhunt
Some real nice bucks there Al. That first one has some serious tine length, almost doesn't even look real. What's planted in that plot? They sure seem to like it.

A mix of wheat and oats were planted there last October. BTW...that tall 8 and that 10 are the best bucks I caught on my trail cams in MS during & after last season. Found one side of a shed from another nice probable 10 point too. I may be wrong but the tall 8 sure looks like he was a 3,5 year old buck last year. Harder to tell after they've been worn down from the rut.

No doubt about that, posted a sequence a few years ago of bucks in middle of season and after season was over and the difference can be pretty dramatic. That ten from the side shot(second and third pics) sure looks heavy bodied compared to the rest of the deer, don't think it is a camera proximity perception either. Thick neck still, probably at least a 4.5 year old. First one would look similar to what I would expect of a 3.5 year old body here in late August September before they start rubbing. Looks like you are in for a great season in MS this year Al.
Rhino
Yea...I think the 10 is a fully mature MS buck. As you can see from the pics the 10 was there 2 days after the tall 8 was. Without a doubt he has a bigger body.
