August in the west

Fires, fires, everywhere.  From the man caused inferno in California to the lightening strike fires here in Montana it appears that the smoke filled air has once again become the norm for August.  Remember my pics of the view from the office window, well this is what I have now.

The smell and taste of the smoke, along with the burning in the throat and eyes makes working outside difficult.  I give the firefighters a lot of credit.  Glacier National Park is on fire and it seems to have become a yearly occurrence.  Here is a news article on some of the fires: https://flatheadbeacon.com/2018/08/13/multiple-structures-lost-glacier-park-wildfire/

The Ten Mile, Pinkham Tower and Huckleberry/Cliff fires are the closest to my location (about 15 miles south) and are burning in an area where I had planned on doing some elk hunting.  There is another fire burning that is closer, about 7 miles to the west, which at this time is 100% contained but still burning within the containment lines.  These fires will burn until the snow comes and if that happened tomorrow it wouldn't be soon enough.

To anyone who has lost their homes or buildings to the fires I wish them the strength and perseverance to carry on.
