Maine Hntr Posted November 11, 2018 Report Share Posted November 11, 2018 sat yesterday for a bit in both the morning and evening, had a doe come in and I was prepared to take her if she presented a shot then I heard some subtle grunting a ways behind her and she turned and trotted off before offering a shot, turns out the grunting was a little skipper spike that ended up coming right to my stand, I passed him up.. would have been some good venison though! I’m on stand right now, took the climber tonight to a new spot where I saw a few pop out of the woods the other night, right close to where I shot my buck last year. Headed to camp with a buddy meet Wednesday. We’re hunting a new piece of public land. Maine Hntr Posted December 27, 2018 Report Share Posted December 27, 2018 Well I’m just about done here, season ends for me next Monday and I’m heading out of town Friday morning so I might try and get out one last time tomorrow... very disappointing season for me, had a few good encounters, chose to pass a couple small ones early in the season and had two close encounters with mature deer just no ethical shot opportunity.. deer sightings the last few weeks have been very minimal. Oh well, guess it’ll be a long wait for me until next season.. maybe we’ll get some good cold weather and I’ll get to do a little hard water fishing.
