We are inching closer to deer season here in Illinois!

It looks like a busy weekend for us this weekend. Tonight Emma & Evan want to go to the Highland/Triad football game. It's sort of a rivalry game around here I suppose. We live in Highland, but my nephew plays JV for Triad and it sounds like he will get to dress for the Varsity game tonight. I finally got the parts I need to fix my garage door opener, so will most likely try to re-assemble that tonight so we can park in the garage again. Tomorrow night is the Homecoming dance and my bride has to work, so I have to bring my daughter to get her hair & makeup done tomorrow afternoon. After pictures & we send her on her way we have a wedding reception to go to. Sunday Evan has an away football game and Emma has a JUCO softball showcase tournament in Springfield.

How is your weekend shaping up?

Wrapped up a Road Right of Way clear cut to close out a Federal Forest Sale . Move Monday back to another Fed. Sale to finish that up. Done for the week work wise.

Got a Doe in the cooler to cut up, we have light rain and high winds, so I may go do that today.

Prob be out bow hunting, and maybe some goose hunting, as they have moved in lately. Wed we had a huge migration in daytime hours, that not happen last few years.

Volunteering at National Hunting and Fishing day teaching folks how to shoot bows Saturday.

Sunday I will be headed up to deer camp to get the place ready for cold weather. Most likely stay there 3 or 4 days. Gonna order 2 cords of wood.

Early bear closes on the 23rd this month, our bow season starts Oct 1st. Might take a walk around property. Leaves are dropping in full force.

Be safe everyone.

Off weekends now with the new job finally. Going to clean the interior of my truck today that is long overdue. Nice and cool today, low 50s. Looks like fall has arrived. Summer went out with a bang yesterday in this area. An EF2 tornado touched down about 10-15 miles from here just in the suburbs of Ottawa and did a pile of damage. Flattened some homes, ripped roofs off, snapped trees and hydro poles etc. After seeing the videos I dont know how anyone wasn't killed. I left work which is only 5 miles from where it hit about 40 minutes before it touched down.
