elkoholic
Well, I awoke to find evidence that indeed it is time to get ready for the white stuff. Get the snow shovels out and I also need to weld the snow plow. It's coming. I've been nursing a bum knee the past couple of days that had put my elk hunting on hold and yesterday it rained all day making my decision to give it one more day of rest an easy one. The temps dropped in the middle of the night and the white stuff was the result. There was a lot of thunder and lighting along with the rain and snow. I think I'll head out to my ladder stand this afternoon (in an hour or so) an see how my knee handles the hike in to the stand. I'm thinking with it being mostly sunny the critters just might be moving and hopefully sitting the last several hours of daylight will be fruitful. MUDRUNNER
As beautiful as that is I suppose it's a sign of things to come lol. Man, what a view though. Like William, we have been way above average sitting around 90 degrees for highs & 70 for lows. The weatherman says change is coming in the next 10-12 days, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. elkoholic
Well, my knee has been holding up pretty good, although I believe the pain and dysfunction is coming from a nerve impingement in my lumbar spine. At least I've been able to get out and chase the critters. The sit in the stand resulted in seeing 8 deer, all doe, and getting soaked as the snow was melting off the trees and raining down, sometimes a baseball sized clump of snow would come dropping down. The past several days have been in the mid 20's every morning and the remaining snow has been very crunchy. It may warm up a bit this coming week which will make the last week of archery season somewhat nicer in terms of sitting on stand.

wtnhunt
Supposed to be a cold front move through here bringing more fall like weather Thursday, looking forward to it even if I don't get to a stand. Yeah, sick of the heat.
