MUDRUNNER
A day early on the check-in thread. I took off tomorrow for a Friday-Sunday softball tournament that Emma is in. The schedule is out & we don't play until Saturday morning, so she & I are hitting a treestand tomorrow. Then it's off to Cape Girardeau Mo for the weekend unless it gets rained out. What does everyone else have planned....a little hunting I hope? It should be getting good.
Ultradog
We're leaving here about 1 pm for deer camp. That's all I need to say isn't it? ☺
wtnhunt
Our youngest daughter Allison turns 13 tomorrow, but we are celebrating her birthday this evening. Muzzleloader opens tomorrow. Have state band competition in middle Tn tomorrow, last year for high school band for Nicole since she is a senior this year. Her school performs at 11:52 am, so likely will not get out in the morning, but might make it back for an afternoon hunt. Catrina or I will be in a stand Sunday for sure. elkoholic
More hunting and hopefully less getting rained on. There has been very little deer movement (maybe because of the weather) but at least there has been an uptick in sign in the way of rubs and a few scrapes have appeared. The bull elk have retreated to the thick blow-down jungles. Some colder weather and snow that stays would help.
Shaun_300
Rifle season opens Monday here. I didn't take any holidays this year. Went back to the marine dealer I was at for 5 years in mid September after leaving for 9 months. Winterizing season is in full swing this time of year here so I want to help as much as I can. Will take a week for sure next year. Possibly 2. Still will hunt weekends though. Daylight savings time ends this weekend here so that will put the sunset time back before 5pm, I get home around 4:25 from work so that doesn't give me much time to get out in the evening. Thinking about getting a crossbow for late season here. Drawing a compound silently when you're dressed up for December is basically impossible. Bought an Ameristep ground blind tonight. My 3 year old Emma has been asking me all season to come hunting with me. Wasn't taking her in the tree with me, so she's pretty pumped up about her "tent". Gonna take her back tomorrow and set it up below my treestand, also got to take a shot or two out of the rifle to make sure it's still driving tacks as it should! Rhino
I'll be relaxing around the camp in MO and playing guide for a guest or 2 coming in here tonight. Since I bagged a big 8 point 2 days ago (post in Bowhunting Forum), I'll be guide and scout here until I go home Tuesday. Then I'll drive back next Friday for the gun season opener on Nov. 10th.
