Sweet November...what are every bodies plans?

I just got back from Atlanta yesterday, so have some crap to take care of around the house tonight. I Plan to be in a treestand most of the day tomorrow. A low of 19 & a high of 35 ought to get some deer on there feet and the bucks chasing. A buddy of mine texted me this morning & shot one of the shooters we were after. Emma got asked to be in another tournament with the 18U team this weekend, so she'll be playing ball Saturday & Sunday....gonna be a cold one for softball.

Hope to get some time in a tree, but have some other things going on.  If nothing else would like to whack some yotes.

I know the top targeted buck on our property was hit yesterday afternoon with muzzleloader at about 140-150 yards out on a hard angling shot, but not sure if his hit was fatal.  We found blood that started about 25 yards from where the deer was hit and only went for about 60 yards before we lost blood.  Spent about 3.5 hours in the dark looking last night until rain moved in with no luck.  Went back this morning and looked another 3 hours. Have a few other areas I want to walk to see if I can find him.   This was the only deer we had gotten tc pics of that I said I would shoot this year, so if he is gone I am hunting a ghost, sure would like to find him or get some tc pics of him to know one way or the other.  Who knows though bucks have a way of just showing up, so there may be something out there that might trip my trigger.  He had been close on a doe, so yeah it is the time to be out right now.  We had hundreds of pics of this buck this year.

Have the bed off my truck, had to replace the fuel pump, need to get it back together.  Not looking forward to laying on the ground to put the bolts back in it in this cold either, especially with the north wind that is not letting off.

Very windy here so I skipped this mornings hunt. Think I'll head back to the ground blind in a bit and dress warm. Snowed a bit last night here. Temp is 32 but winds are gusting 30+ mph so it's a little brisk. Going down to the mid teens tonight and the winds are supposed to gradually settle down. Hoping to make it out first thing in the morning.

I rifle hunted yesterday afternoon and all day today and saw exactly 0 deer.

I let the he young guy  who works with my wife bow hunt on my other property again this year. He took a nice doe tonight.

Cold here today. High of 16 I think. Gotta hand it to him for staying in the stand most of the day.

He going to text me pics of a nice buck the trail cam took there on Friday.

Am going to hunt out of my blind in AM tomorrow and I think I'll hunt out of the camper which is over where he hunts PM tomorrow.

Got the word that the inlaws are coming for Thanksgiving. Means I need to get the second overhead door on the new garage this week and get the construction debris hauled away that's inside before they come as I'm sure they'll want the tour.

I have the far door in since I took this photo but not the near one.

Well would have been hunting a ghost, recovered the old buck's head this morning, will let the hunter tell her story if she wishes to, if not I will post some pics and my part in it all.  Unfortunately gonna have to find a cape.  Don't know how we overlooked the deer Friday morning, one of us had been within just a few yards of him. I was about to call it quits this morning when I saw a few buzzards circling.  Pinpointed their location and as I got closer one buzzard on the ground would not leave and I knew what that meant.   Sadly we had heard the yotes exactly at this location less than 2 hours after the shot, about 200 yards away from where we lost blood and in a nasty thick slough.  I had said I wanted to take my pistol and fresh batteries and go back to where the yotes were but the girls said no, not at night.  I thought we looked close in the area Friday morning, but the deer was somehow overlooked.

Popped one Sunday morning after I got back from hunting.  I hate freaking yotes!!!

Good luck on that buck Jerry.
