Saying goodbye to a furry friend.

My wife and I had too say goodbye to our yellow lab Kaboose on nov 29. She would have been 11 years old in feb. She wasn’t a hunting dog just a great family pet. We have had a dog in our lives for about 25 years and our house just felt empty without a dog so last Friday my wife went to the human society and we adopted our new fur baby. She is 4 month old bernedoddle named Bernie. 24fde91a1bb7cc9636d32e43caf6684e.jpg

So sorry for your loss Trevor. Glad you found another one though! She looks very sweet.

When I met my fiancee she had a 3 year old chocolate lab Maggie. She'll be 8 in July. Starting to slow down physically but still has the puppy brain lol. Added a golden retriever pup last fall. The two are best buddies. When Maggie's time is up we will have to get another dog for Gus, he will be lost without his Maggie.

They sure are a special part of the family!

Sorry to hear that Trevor.  Know how tough it is to have to have one put down, been there a few times.

Our old mixed stray is getting on up there, she is also a Maggie. She showed up in the back yard tail wagging so hard it was about to make her fall over, think that was around 2006.  Dunno for certain just exactly what type of mix she is but think she is part healer and part pit bull.  Dog has a very sweet disposition, but she hates snakes more than I do.  She kills countless snakes and has been bitten in the mouth a few times by water moccasins.  Dread the day but know it is coming.  We have been looking for the right new dog for Maggie to share her good habits with, but have not gotten one yet.

Sorry to hear that. It's never easy.

The last dog we had was a beagle. Got him when we first got married and before kids. He made it to 13. As he got older and slower I knew what was coming, but always thought " I'm a grown man, and he's just a dog...I can handle it....not that big of a deal". I was bawling my eyes out when I left the vet that day lol. If our life weren't so busy I would love to get another one.
