What are the chances of Bucks moving and killing one in a tree stand in 24-30 deg F Temperatures?

Deer movement and activity have a lot more to do with than just the temperature, but that temp is something that will get them on their feet. As far as killing one from a stand, well it's all about being in the right area at the right time.. this time of year you need to focus strictly on food for the most part.

YUP, colder the better, and be on trail to or on food source. Of course it gets tougher to draw and stay undetected in cold weather. Noise travels better, tougher to move and not be detected in a tree stand.  If you get to full draw and kill, you have done something!

Cooler weather does get them on their feet in most places.  Interestingly enough read an article recently that suggested in the south that below freezing temps may make them hunker down.  I can say that is not accurate here in west Tennessee.  Most of the bucks I have killed over the past 10 years have been when the temps have been below freezing.  If you have any beans around where you hunt, that is where I would be.  Bucks this time of year are hitting food sources pretty hard.

There are multiple factors that come into play with deer getting on their feet.  With that said...JMHO but from my experience (as a general rule) there's a temperature comfort range for the best deer movement depending on where you're hunting.  That temp range varies across the country.  Mid-western deer and deer further north have larger bodies and longer hair for colder temps than southern deer.  The temp comfort range may be under 10 degrees (F) in Canada while it may be between 25 and 40 here in Mississippi.  Other factors like wind speed, rain, etc. all come into play to.

With that said, assuming all other factors being favorable, temps in the mid 20's to 30 degrees is, IMO within the comfort range for deer movement for most USA.  That may be too warm for Canada and too cold for Florida.  Hunters in those parts of the continent will need to chime in for that.
