Let's hear what the weekend plans are.

Not much going on tonight. My daughter has softball practice after school & the wife & I will probably do our grocery shopping for the next week. Tomorrow morning Emma has ball practice again ( first high school game is supposed to be Wednesday, but with a little snow left on the ground right now I can't imagine that's going to happen.) and my 5 year old is starting his second session of learn to skate so he can play hockey. Going to be a soggy mess all weekend, so as much as I want to jump on some outdoor projects that probably won't happen this weekend.

Yeah, a break from the cold to have yet more rain and storms.  Hopefully it does not get too bad tonight or tomorrow.

Catrina has to work this weekend.  No plans really, but Christina our oldest, turns 23 Sunday.  Think the plan is to take her out for dinner.

The temperature here got above freezing for the first time in over a month yesterday and with any luck it will be a continuing trend.  So now I will spend the next couple of days moving snow away from the house and preparing for the three feet of snow to melt.  Hopefully the melt will be at a moderate rate which would mean less chance of flooding/water damage.  There has already been some issues in the state with ice dams causing localized flooding.

I think I'll also head out on a coyote hunting expedition and may try calling in a wolf as there is one week left to tag a wolf.  Depending on time, there may be a little ice fishing in the works also.

With five weeks to go before turkey and spring bear seasons I should start making sure I'm geared up and ready.  Getting a little antsy for Spring.

Not much on for tomorrow. Probably a little snowmobiling with my daughter around the farm. Might try and get out for a coyote hunt. Clocks go ahead tomorrow night, spring I coming! That will put our sunset at 7pm now.

Headed back down to Toronto on Sunday afternoon for a 2 day course Monday and Tuesday at Mercury Marine. Then one more 4 day course in April and I should be done training for the year as far as I know.

Our weather is slowly getting warmer. It was 32 on the way home from work tonight. Was below 0 almost every morning this week though. One morning was -18f. Still 3 feet of snow on the ground and it is supposed to be into the 40s and low 50s by the end of next week, hoping for a slow melt! I think flooding will be an issue this year. Last year by now the snow was all gone!

Like Elcoholic we finally got above freezing here for the first time in over a month - maybe 6 weeks.

But they're saying another 3-5" of snow today so winter ain't over yet.

I'm going to get started on building some heavy shelves in the new garage this weekend.

I keep thinking about our deer herd here. We've had a brutal winter with lot's of snow and below zero temps.

I'll bet it's taken a severe toll on the deer and we'll be back to bucks only and doe tags by lottery this fall.

Just when the herd was getting built up enough that we had Hunter's choice and even could take a bonus deer last year.  Such is life in the frozen North I guess.
