fisherguy
Re: what\'s too big for fox i would say definately too much gun, for cyotes just shoot the lightest bullet you can, and it would be a good gun IMO.
sureshot
Re: what\'s too big youc an use a anti air craft gun if you do not want the hide lol!! A .270 with 130 gr bullets will work ok if savign the hide from a distance and if a chest shot but if you hit them in the shoulder blade or back there wil be a hole! I have shot lots durign deer season with a 7mm and a 300 weatherby and saved the hides but also ahve split them right in 1/2 exept for a bit of hide holding! All depends on if savign the hide and if reloading, if you are reloadign you can get varmet bullets and slow them down to a pelt friendly load! Good luck!!
maddhunter
Re: what\'s too big Would shooting a full metal jacket target bullet help on saving the hide. They won't expand like a hunting bullet will they?
sureshot
Re: what\'s too big fmj will work for yotes but I find that a chest shot one will run for quite soem distance before dropping and without snow id a hard trackign job, plus even with fmj bullets a bone will cause expansion! dodge4x4
Re: what\'s too big naw, i'd even consider using an elephant gun. JUST KIDDING GUYS. no, i dont think a 270 is to big. i've used it before and everythings been fine. and yes, there was some hide left...LOL! mitrrophybowhunter
Re: what\'s too big i use a 300 WSM and it works great. The yotes are so small that the bullet does not expand much at all!!!!
