Ultradog
I got a call about 7:00 yesterday morning from my tennant. She said the 500 gal propane tank had tipped over. I thought, "Whaaat??" It's 120 mi from here and I was working and don't have a way to lift it back up so I told her to call the propane company. She had just put 300 gals in it. He came pretty quickly and sent me the photo. No leaks fortunately. I own the tank. It's been there for at least 10 years and never moved. The propane co delivered it and set it up. Seems strange but it's pretty obvious what happened - sun warmed the ground on one side. The other side was shaded by the tank. The guy came pretty quickly and had it set back up in less than an hour. Cost me $200 which was a lot less than I expected. I will do something to block it up better this summer. This is sort of hunting related as it's up at the property where I hunt.
wtnhunt
That is weird. So your blocks just shifted? Good thing your line was not damaged.
MUDRUNNER
Holy smokes! Can't say I've ever seen that happen before. That would be a strange phone call to get lol.
elkoholic
Certainly looks like the blocks on the sunny side sank into the ground. I would be tempted to dig down a couple of feet and put in concrete footers to replace the stacked blocks. Cheaper way out would be to place something to shade the sunny side or maybe a cradle type of devise could be built to support the tank. At least the line didn't twist and break. I wonder how the guy leveled the blocks to prevent it from happening again.
Ravin R10 man
wow thats weird..also never seen a tank with a flat footing like that either. I agree with Elk; "footings"
