MUDRUNNER
It looks like I have a job interview this afternoon. Been working at the same place for 20 years and it's not what it used to be, so I've been sending some resume's out. We'll see how that goes. Plan in grilling some steaks when I get home. Tomorrow the 5 year old has hockey, and Emma has a double header for high school ball. Sunday Evan and I had planned on trying youth turkey hunting one more time, but it looks like more rain is supposed to move in Saturday night. wtnhunt
Our 17 year old daughter has her senior prom, so will be taking some outdoor pics Saturday afternoon if the weather holds out. I might try a little listening/calling for turkeys Saturday morning depending on how wet it still is. Been a couple gobblers strutting in front of one of my cameras 2 of the last 10 days but at odd times. Probably need to do some walking anyway, finally getting pics of bucks that are dropping a side. Lots of odds and ends maintenance stuff to work on, car has an issue I need to work on, also needs the trans fluid changed. Need to run new wiring for lights for my stock trailer. Need to fill a few more feed bags with sand and add to our dam I built, working great but water has started working around the sides. Hopefully will dry out enough to get a little trackhoe in soon and get the sand out of the actual channel so the water quits cutting soil off our ground. Have 2 ladder stands left that I never pulled I need to get down.
DowninWhiteys
Procrastination... It's a wonderful thing isn't it? Since the tax deadline is coming up I have to get mine all receipts, bills, etc. sorted out and taken care of, since I'm self-employed. it's really not that big of a deal but being busy I usually cut it kind of close. Thank goodness I haven't had any problems with the government LOL. I'll be also be hitting up my nephew's trapshoot as well. He's not doing too bad for a first-year shooter. Sure hope we can get some warm weather to cuz I'd like to open up the windows and get some air flowing through my place, because its about dang time LOL. probably going to be about a week out from being able to get up to the woods to start looking for some mushrooms and finding some early poppers. really do need to get into the woods I got the cabin fever bad. Shaun_300
Gonna start some spring cleaning around the house and yard. Snow is melting away and can finally see some ground. Got lots of dog do-do to pick up, put the skidoo away for the summer, 4 wheeler out and battery changed for the summer. Would also like to get my summer Denali wheels and tires on my truck, head off to Toronto on Monday for a week of training at Mercury Marine, and would rather not put another 600 miles on my winter tires for no reason. It's supposed to be 63 degrees down there Monday so I don't think I have to worry about snow storms anymore lol.
elkoholic
Work to do, managed to get a wildflower garden tilled and seeded this morning and then put the disc and harrow to work on a small food plot (about 2 acres). If the weather holds for tomorrow I'll get the plot planted with a clover and chicory blend. I will over seed it with buckwheat and see how that pans out. Then there is another smaller plot to prepare and plant with an oat and chicory combo. For the rest of today I'll work on prepping the garden spot or maybe do a little scouting for next Saturdays turkey opener and keep an eye out for sheds along the way. Rhino
Went to camp late Friday to turkey hunt Saturday morning. Bagged my 2nd gobbler...post in the turkey forum. With bad storms moving in Saturday afternoon, I came home to catch up on spring cleaning chores until the weather improves to take a swing at getting my last MS gobbler. That's about it for now. Heading to Missouri Friday. Their turkey season opens on 4/15.
