mitrrophybowhunter
30-06 has a better bullet weight range in factory ammo. Other than that not much difference
JimT
Re: which rifle 06 vote here also. If I was to own just one rifle, it would be chambered in 30-06. It is very versatile.
spyderpancake
Re: which rifle the 308 is very close to the -06, I happen to like the 308 better. The cetme's are not built for great accuracy, more of a close range gun.

JimT
Re: which rifle Have to disagree that the 30-06 is a close range gun also. My 30-06 shoots as good as most hunting .308 Winchesters if not better. The guy shooting the gun is the key to accuracy in hunting rifles, in my opinion. AJ
Re: which rifle No Jim, a slight misunderstanding has occurred. The Cetme is the acronym for Centro de Estudios Tecnicos de Materiales. Its a Spanish military rifle. So its not the chambering that makes it a short range gun, its the rifle. We all know the .30-06 or the .308 Win is fully capable of doing the job long after most shooters can accurately place the bullets. I hunt varmints with my AR15 clone. Personally, I would definately take a NEF over the CETME for hunting.
johnf
Re: which rifle I shoot my NEF 243 with a 2" group at 250 yards. The gun is probibly better than that. I shake.

JimT
Re: which rifle Cool. Learn something new every day..... How much does a cetme cost? Those are cool.
AJ
Re: which rifle [ QUOTE ] How much does a cetme cost? [/ QUOTE ] Prices vary. Century Arms uses Spanish part kits and domestic steel receivers, and assembles them here in the USA. They can be had for $300-$350 range.
