elkoholic
This weekend will be mostly spent in the mountains. I've got another camera to put out and an SD card to retrieve from another. The archery opener is now only 4 weeks away and in 5 weeks I'll start my quest to fill a moose tag. The search is on for more likely hunting spots where an old guy will be able to get an extra large animal out. The rest of the week will be getting summer chores completed before hunting begins. I really need to get up on the roof and clean the chimney and do a little bit of tarring and with cooler weather in the forecast this coming week will be a good time to get it done. Ravin R10 man
only worked until 1pm today, then picked up a front mount grass cuter for my skid steer. Got most of my trails to stands/food plots/deer trails cut open here. with wolves around, I have found deer are more prone to use them if they can see clearly down a path. wtnhunt
Need to do some yardwork. Been more limited on how much I can tolerate being outside in the heat, blood pressure been wacky from being too high to bottoming out after just a couple hours of working with the tractor. Had a beaver dam in the bottom that had us holding water on about half of the ground I let my cows out on over the summer. After having a couple end up with foot rot have had to cut them back off that ground. There was a tree fallen over the path to get to the dam. Of course the tree was covered in the ivy. Opted to order some ivy x pre contact to see if it would really work before cutting the tree out of the way and that finally got here and had time to cut the tree down yesterday. Busted the dam with the front end loader on the tractor yesterday, need to check it again some time this weekend. If I have to bust it again will probably have to take ramps and a chain to keep from burying the front end of the tractor and getting hung. Shaun_300
Was just about to go out and split up a poplar tree that fell down in a storm at my father in laws last year but it started raining! Hopefully it doesn't last too long. Beautiful day other than that, 70 and no humidity. If I still have energy I'll throw the chainsaw on the 4 wheeler and go knock down some dead elms and maples in the bush. Gonna try and gather up some dead stuff and may get away without having to buy wood this year. Won't be long, another month or two we will start having fires in the morning and evening to keep the chill out.
