Geez shows how much I pay attention LOL! Sorry folks! Congrats to all who have bagged so far, looks like pretty much everyone! I've only been out once with the bow this year. Seems like any free moment I've had this fall it's been either crazy windy or raining.

Rifle season opens Monday here. I have monday off, headed to the camp Sunday, hunting monday, coming home to work the rest of the week, then headed back up Friday to hunt the entire second week! Looks like the weather is cooling down. Next weekend lows are supposed to be in the mid teens and highs in the high 20s and low 30s with some snow forecasted. Let's hope that doesn't change!

Al will be checking in at some point with a good buck.

Yep...Martin I bagged a bigun yesterday afternoon here in Missouri.  11 points over an inch...weighed 240.  I'll take some daylight pics today after my buddies get back from their morning hunts.  I won't be able to post pics till I get home though.  My son arrives tomorrow so I'm changing over to mt guide hat.  He's hunting through 11/8, so we'll be going home on 11/9.  I can't fill my 2nd MO buck tag until the gun season opens on 11/16.

Since my last post, my buddy (Ernie) killed a nice 10 point.  I'll have to share pics when I get home.  My son (Bailey) arrived yesterday afternoon.  He and another friend of ours are the only ones still hunting.  I told them this morning before they left to hunt...if there was any 1 particular date I'd choose to be on stand here to bow hunt, it would be November 6th.  Past hunts here and trail cam pics have shown that there's great daylight action on that date every year.   I plan to be home by Friday night so they have 2 days to fill their tags.

Back home for a break and posted my entry pics on this 11 point.  The kicker on his right brow tine is under an inch.  There's also an unusual drop growth on his left main beam.  You can see it good here.

It was a judgement call not to count that short drop as a point due to the odd shape.  Although the longest part measured 1 1/8" from the front side of the main beam, it's a judgement call about where to start from the main beam.  For that reason, I called him an 11 point for the team score instead of 12.

I'll post a story about the hunt in the bowhunting forum when I catch up on chores at home.

Saw one of my target bucks yesterday here in Missouri...a huge 8 point.  Unfortunately, he broke off most of his left G2 since I got the last pic of him on 11/5.  Decided to let him walk.  He might have walked past one of my cameras to get where I saw him so I may have some before and after pics.  Pic posting will have to be when I get home.  Getting ready for the afternoon hunt.

Thanks Pat...I'm going to be house shopping soon in north MS.  I have a grandson on the way now.  Due date is in early May so time to move closer to my son's home in Memphis.  I need a bigger trophy room too.

Down to the last couple of hunts here in MO.  We'll see what happens.

I'll eat my Missouri gun season buck tag this year.  I've only seen young bucks, does, and fawns lately.  Heading home tomorrow.  For the rest of the season, I'll be in the woods in Mississippi.  Left 3 trail cams running on my home turf while I was hunting Missouri.  We'll see what happens this year there.
