elkoholic
The Rocky Mountain Front and farther east got blasted this past weekend. Only a couple of inches of snow at my place, but a lot of wind and cold temps. It could be a long winter. Check out some of the pictures. https://nbcmontana.com/news/local/gallery-snowstorm-hits-montana-09-29-2019
wtnhunt
Send some our way Dave. Supposed to break records for high here the next couple days. Summer doesn't want to let go here. Have gone into a drought too, have had just one rain in the last 5 weeks, after record rainfalls prior.
Ravin R10 man
You can keep it bud...I'm not ready for that here yet.
Maine Hntr
I read that this afternoon, one places in montane received well over 2'.. looks like Mother Nature grabbed on early this year to you guys. we're supposed to receive some well needed rain later this week, haven't had a soaking rain in probably a month and a half or so, overall a dry summer too. We got about 6" 2 hours west of us in the Cascades a d heard anywhere from 2-16 north of Spokane into the selkirks. Also, I might want to pick your brain about some elk spots up your way for a hunt next year or whenever I draw a general tag....
Strut10
You just keep that white crap out there !!! Yep. I'll keep my global warming...………………...
im your huckleberry
We amazingly never got any of it here it was all south of us. Started somewhere around Red deer and stayed south. The further south you went the more snow there was Waterton got about 36 inches and Calgary set snowfall records for September.
wtnhunt
It is 95 here right now but it is so dry the real feel is only 99. It is supposed to turn more fall like by the weekend.
Shaun_300
Pretty crazy! I thought it was wild last year when I took the skidoo out on October 28th lol. Earliest I've ever seen snow here. There's a frost advisory for tonight. Barely broke 50 today.
wtnhunt
Another record breaking high here today but not supposed to be nearly as warm the next few days. Ready for some cooler weather, the girls need to do some shooting.
elkoholic
I'll take the 20s and 30s we have been experiencing every morning, and daytime highs around 50, to the heat that is throttling the east side of the country. The weekend forecast is calling for a rain and snow mix in the valleys and possible heavy snow in the mountains. The colder weather hasn't improved game movement but it does make for more comfortable hunting conditions for me. They are still digging out from the 4 feet of white stuff over in Browning. That's a lot of snow even for the big critters: https://www.kpax.com/news/video-big-grizzly-bear-trudging-through-snow-in-glacier-county
Shaun_300
Low of 25 here tomorrow night! I always welcome the first nights below freezing for some reason. I agree with you elk... waking up to 20s and 30s with highs around 50 is perfect. Even though it was 46 degrees at lunch today there was ice pellets falling. Must have been dang cold up above! wtnhunt
Did get a nice break from the heat yesterday. Supposed to get some 70's for highs and 40's for lows this coming week, will be welcomed here.
Ravin R10 man
been in the 40's for highs here all week...MORE rain here than "FALSE NARRATIVES" from the DEM LIB TARDS.. DONT NEED EITHER!!?
Shaun_300
Woke up to a heavy frost and 26 this morning, felt amazing. Wanted to get in the tree for an evening sit tonight but never made it. Had to pick up 400sq ft of click flooring for the living room, get some stuff at the store for the little man and have supper. Oh well. Supposed to rain tomorrow, may sneak out to the ground blind for a couple hours if I can. Life is much busier now with 2 kids! too_pointer
Us in Michigan are getting ready, some snow later in the week, I hate it !!! too_
wtnhunt
Some reports are calling for a first frost here this Saturday morning. I may go sit in a stand and just watch at first light for a couple hours, or may drag along something in case the yotes I have been regularly getting pics of happen along. Strut10
The towns where I hunt turkeys in Wyoming and Nebraska are bracing for impact. Today it's 75 degrees and there's a Red Flag Warning for prairie fires. By Thursday night they're supposed to be between 10 and 15 degrees with winds to 35 mph and up to 14 inches of snow in the higher ridges...…… 6 to 10 inches otherwise. Good grief !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! elkoholic
It was 18 degrees here this morning. I only have a couple of inches of snow at my house as most of the snow came before the temperature dropped and the snow was melting as soon as it hit the ground. Yesterday morning it was 58 degrees (warmest it had been in a month) and sunny on my way in to work, which had changed to 34 degrees and snowing by the time I headed home last night. Fortunately the road surface was warm enough so that it was melting as fast as it hit. South and east of here was a different story. Some pictures if interested: https://nbcmontana.com/news/local/weather-alert-day-travel-impacts-from-snow-and-wind Not all the pictures are from the recent storm, but they do show what western Montana is like if you've never been out this way. Dawg
Our second "cold" front blew through SETX today. Yesterday's high was in the low 90's....today's high was early this morning at 70. It's about 55 outside now. Gonna have a couple of days of cooler weather then it's back into the mid 80's for highs for the next week. I don't hunt with a stick and string anymore so I think I'll hit the national forest tomorrow afternoon and kill some limb rats.
Ravin R10 man
36 and snowing, not as bad as Dakota's yet to have a frost here, but prob. get one tonight
wtnhunt
No frost here this morning but cool, in the mid 30's, and very foggy. Should have went and sat a stand somewhere just to see what might be moving. Might get out tomorrow morning, supposed to get down to 34. Hoping a decent buck moves in soon, youth hunt is a couple weeks away and only had one I would like to see Allison get a shot at, no pics of him in a good while though. Shaun_300
Had a nice 70 degree day yesterday, there was frost pretty much every morning last week. Leaves sure are beautiful here now! Manitoba got hammered with snow the past couple days, it's a mess out there!
