Well folks Wednesday morning I'll be headed to SW Colorado for a mulie hunt.  I'm ready to get away from the hustle and bustle for a few days and enjoy some cool crisp mountain air!  I'll try to post updates as often as I can as the cell service isn't real great where I'll be.  Today and tomorrow will be the longest days of the year.....

Tagged out in Colorado...

Sat over a wheat field where I saw the deer yesterday but it was vacant. As the sun rose I watched deer 500 yards away make their way down into the river bottom. 30 minutes later I decided to ease down into the bottom to see if they were still hanging around down there. As I made my way down the side of the hill I spotted a couple does, watched them feed off and walked down another 30 yards where I could see the rest of the bottom. There were 6 bucks feeding off to my left, I glassed them for a few minutes and picked this one out of the group. I eased down to close the distance some and they spotted me so I sat down, got the sticks set up, and put the bead on him. He was almost facing dead at me just slightly quartered to me. I placed the crosshair at the base of his neck just to the side of his right shoulder and squeezed off.....he piled up DRT!37a316af13699999178d7568033f2609.jpg39ada96d2ec406467f48837776e6d6a1.jpg

Congrats on a quick hunt.
Did the change in Colorado points process screw you up in the draws the last few years?
I picked up a leftover tag this year. Haven't been hunting here in 3 years so I'm not sure how the points process affects the draw.
