sureshot
Well Kerry is as liberal as our countries fearfull leaders ahve been in the past few years[Canada] I am goin to tel you a few things what has happened!!First off our conservative goverment before the liberals had a bunch of money tied up in new choppers as soon as the liberals came in the money was gone they cancelled the choppers and in the past few years 20 soem peopel [oour airforce people] have been killed in chopper accidents caused by the old choppers screwing up!! There is no money they say for armed forces so now there is no recruiptment, they are even now talking to not even have a armed forces just a policing force , our only border that is protected is the one with the US A and it is from customs not armed forces! The liberal thinking is have no armed forces have no truoble!!!Stick your head in a hole and the bad guy will walk right by you!! Next off our guns, the liberals do not want us to have any guns, they are putting the gun law in and in the futere are going to TRY to pull off what australia and a few others have in the past,They spend billions on gun controal with written proof that it is not working but will not admit it, Trust me Kerry is thinking hte same!!! Next off our healthcare,It is absolutly a joke!! Its goverment run and there is abotu 1 office worker to each actuall worker, My wife works at a old folks home that the pay sheet gets sent to a office here is tallied up, then sent to the city were it is rechecked and the totals put in then sent to another office were the checks are made up then sent back to tsecond one to verify then put in the bank, alot of stupidity when 1 person could do it all, the whole system is like that!!! I have been to the doc 2 times in the past 5 years or so, one tiem I burnt my finger and actually melted the nail, the second chopped a finger tip off, both times I was in a 3 hour wait or so couse the doctors were busy with patians, lots of the older folks just come in every week couse they are lonly,if it was changed so that would not happen say have a small fee it would be better for the ones who do not abuse it!! Next off its the whole freedom thing, we are as close to communism oyu cna be without actually calling it communism, they tell us what we can do in our yards, they tell us what we can do in our town, there is no votes, our town put in a multy million doller community center with a big hall, it shut down 2 other private halls in town and broke 2 people yet our taxes payed for it!! Is that freedome? Now the towns and the provingvce of Ontario are banning certain breeds of dogs, Ont is banning pitbulls, they are making peopel who have them put up a 6 ft fence paty a 500 licence fee ect, if not applieing a 10000 fine and jail time,in a town in my province they just banned pitbulls, rotwhilers, dobermens and shepards, the peopel who have dogs allready must pay a 250 fee per year, always have a muzzle on it, always a leash, and soem other rules I can not remember!! Just a free country run by the liberals!! There are many more things but I am stopping here, you do not want your country run by the liberal!!!It will turn your healthcare into a joke and turn your armed forces into the joke you always hear abotu Canadas!!Plus there will be trouble with your guns also!! Trust me I live in a country run by liberals!! I am wishing you all the luck with the election!! Its for the good of the world not just you all!! markyj987
Re: Thinking of voting Kerry[read] Spectacular post, Bret! I wish some of the liberals here that talk about how fantastic Canada's government and health care system is would be able to sit down and talk to you for a few minutes! wtnhunt
Re: Thinking of voting Kerry[read] Great post Bret and think you are absolutely right about Kerry's intentions. Terrible to see what has happened to our neighbors to the north and no doubt that is the direction Kerry would like to take us towards. johnf
Re: Thinking of voting Kerry[read] I was in England several years ago and stayed with a friend that I had met in college. He and his wife were expecting very shortly and we had a conversation about prenatal health care. While having dinner with them she (9 months pregnant) had a glass of wine with her dinner. When I asked her if she wasn't concerned about fetal alchohol syndrom, she didn't have a clue what I was talking about. She went on to say that she had only been drunk 4 or 5 times sence she found out that she was pregnant and that was in the early stages. So she thought the baby should be ok. These were college educated people and they didn't have a clue about the dangers to their child with alcohol, smoking or even drugs. She thought that the liver would take out any toxins from her blood before they got to the baby. This is a complete lack of knowledge of the medical facts. This is just one of the many tragities that government run medicine causes. I would rather be well informed and pay a little more.

[/ QUOTE ] Gotta disagree, that has nothing to do with government in medicine. Here our health care is terrible and run by one of the most corrupt and incompetent governments in the developed world, but we still know that drinking while pregnant is bad. Information on what is good and bad comes from media, independent advocacy groups, and all sorts of places. Choosing to ignore things you can do without needing help ffomr the health care system is a social issue that illustrates different values in different societies.
