fly
2019 is all but over. Share a few significant events if you feel so inclined. I'll keep mine hunting related but share whatever event you like. 1. I was able to purchase hunting land (after a very long wait). 2. Me and my son both harvested decent bucks from the newly acquired land. 3. The work President Trump has done to protect public land access for hunting (SB 47). Maine Hntr
1. shot my personal best buck, with a bow! 2. learned more about some home turf that hopefully I can put to use in years to come. 3. would like to spend a few more days at our place in Maine in 2020 and try and get a deer down there as well, also do some good spring Turkey hunting up there. Ultradog
I sat in my blind for a total of 6 days and never saw a deer. Not one! Hunted at the lake property the last day and saw nothing there either. My hunting pal Mike saw does and fawns but no bucks all season. He finally took a doe - a very large one, on the last day so we got a little venison. My plots were a big failure this year. A big part of why I didn't see anything. Looking forward to starting over on them in 2020. I finally finished our new garage. Had the final electrical inspection Dec 3rd and the final building inspection the next day. Passed both no problem. Still have to paint the doors. And after 4 years of collecting hard to find parts I finally got started on my 4200 Ford. It is in a hundred pieces right now. It was a gasser with Ford's infamous Select O Speed - (power shift) transmission. It's going back together as a diesel with an 8 sp crash box. And, after 6 years of marriage I still love my wife. No photos of deer or wife to share but here's the new garage and a before picture of the tractor. Happy New Year to you all!
Shaun_300
Great idea! 1. April - shot my second turkey. What made it so special was my 3 year old daughter (now 4) was in the blind with me. She even helped call it in with the box call! Seeing the look on her face when I squeezed the trigger was priceless. I will never forget it! 2. May - Made the best move in my career. Got out of a not so great place to work for a dream job at a big marina right on the Rideau river on the south end of Ottawa. Amazing place to work in all aspects. Never been so happy to get up and go to work in my life. 3. July 28th - welcomed our second child, Patrick to the world 18 days early. He's happy and healthy and stole another piece of my heart. Can't wait to get him out hunting! 4. November - due to many reasons, mainly health and lack of holidays I have not been up to the hunt camp since 2016 for rifle season. Made it happen this year, spent the whole week up there. Despite the slow hunt, and temperatures in the negatives at night and single digit highs for most of the week, we had a blast. Hope everyone has a great year in 2020.
