Saw a feed at city limit of about 2,000 mallards and about 1,500 Canadas! Between 5,000 to 20,000 Canadas stay here all winter as long as the Bow river has open sections. But to see all those mallards on one small field in Febuary is unusual. The crows have been here almost for one month(The crows usually migrate south while the magpies stay all year... So stop complaining in the southern stays...Global warming is here to stay!!!

Starting yesterday morning there has been a massive Southward movement of geese. In addition there are still birds coming up from the south and staging here. I drove the Churches Ferry/Leeds/Wolford/Cando area this morning. I observed huge flocks on the ground and in the air. One flock on the ground was over 2 miles by 1/2 mile. Most of the birds are adult bir

Thursday, Apr. 16, 2020 Jimmy K. reported Incoming: increasing numbers Time: Early Afternoon Weather: Overcast Temp: 21-30 degrees Wind: 20+ mph from Northwest Comments: Looks like we missed the snows this spring...The big push is over! I was scouting all day yesterday..All unhuntable adult birds. All of a sudden, a huge flock a Mile-High of more than 100k went through to Northern Alberta...It was gusty northerly wind, yet those birds were so high they looked like mosquitoes! We lost both fall andspring seasons this year, really tough year!
