elkoholic
As I glanced out the office window, as the sun was about to set, there stood the beast. Not just smelling, but eating the roses. This is the fourth year he has carried a rack similar to that. Each year the tips have come very close to touching/crossing and with a month or so to grow that may again be the case. The darker bulbous ends of the tines indicate they are still growing. He has to be 6 or 7 years old. It was amazing to watch him from less than 5 feet away, and for about ten minutes or so I was mesmerized.

I get multiple pictures of him every day on both cameras set up on my property and now have several hundred pictures and counting. This year his bedding area is just 200 yards from my property line. It is on the same ridge he has used the past 4 years or so, but in prior years he bedded a half mile further away. He was never this active during daylight hours in prior years and after the velvet comes off he would be totally nocturnal.
elkoholic
He's back. He seems to have no fear of the house or me, at least if I stay in the house and don't make any loud noises. The date is wrong as the picture was taken tonight in some pretty poor camera light.
wtnhunt
He sure does like those roses. Don't think the deer there have ever bothered Catrina's roses.

elkoholic
Those poor roses just don't stand a chance. He was within 20 feet of the house for over an hour tonight, feeding on the lawn and the few roses that were left. Sort of strange to be within feet of him. Dakota
Alright, for the sake of those poor roses you've got to bag this deer. Lol
