hangunnr
Picked up a couple boxes of the new offering from Winchester. One word will adequately describe it's performance........ WOW ........ In my gun the #5 shot turned in slightly better density than the #6 shot. Both would be more than adequate in the woods. Looks like ole Strut 10 was right on the money with his assessment of this ammunition. hangunnr
maytom
Re: Winchester X-tended range ammo.... I'm hearing more and more about this ammo, and might have to give them a try someday.
LifeNRA
Re: Winchester X-tended range ammo.... Comp-N-Choke got back to me about these shells. According to them these shells are ok for use in their chokes! But I am going to have to wait until next week to try them! I want to give my shoulder a rest from them 3.5" tigers! LOL! Here is the email from Comp-N-Choke, John, Winchester has no disclaimers on their Extended Range shells. They are telling everyone that it is OK in our chokes. We Have patterned some and they pattern better than the Hevi-shot and they say they have a thicker shot cup and some softer metals in their mixture that will give before it bursts your barrel. They are on the hook! Good Luck this season. If it doesn't pattern much better than the lead shot I would use the lead. Nothing does the damage that lead does. snapper
Re: Winchester X-tended range ammo.... Nice pattern there gunnr...my gun seems to only like Rem. shells, but I did buy a box of the Fed. flight control shells yesterday. I can't imagine them pattering better than the Rem. heavy shot...but I'll give them a shot!
huntn4bucks
Re: Winchester X-tended range ammo.... Great looking pattern for 40 yards! Make sure you shoot it at close range (15-20 yards) to make sure it doesn't shoot like a rifle!
