Dakota
How big of a factor does scent control play in your success, or how big of a factor do you make it? I have a bin of hunting clothing (various layers and early-late season gear) that I typically wash with scent free detergent and dry with Dead Down Wind dryer sheets, but that's about it. Maybe a spray or two of autumn scent once I park. What's your strategy?
Ravin R10 man
spray washer and dryer with scent eliminating products, then wash hunting clothes with scent lok then dry them with scent control in that too. once dry into a scent control bag. spray down with scent elimination products every time I get ready to hunt. Patrick.Long
I my clothes in scent free detergent and then I seal them up in a big plastic bag (it’s a vacuum seal bag but I don’t vacuum it) so that they don’t get any scents on them from my house. I always wash with scent free soap the day before a hunt as well and then give my outer layer and the things I can’t wash like boots, pack, and hat a spray down with scent eliminating spray. wtnhunt
Have 3 plastic totes. I wash as needed in scent away or sports wash. I have put cedar limbs in the totes, there are cedars all over our property. When it's cold I usually put on my base layers by the door, then walk outside to put on my outer layer. When it is warmer and I am wearing just one layer I usually get dressed outside. I almost always take a shower before heading out, use saw soap and shampoo on my hair and dove unscented soap. I do use saw spray most of the time but not always. I have gotten away with deer getting pretty close in swirling or shifting.winds, but have also gotten busted my fair share of times. Dakota
That's a great point about dressing outside. Guess that's something I've never thought of.
