buckbuster11
Are you serious? Do they want to jack up all the tags 50% or just the general license? I guess it really doesnt surprise me though...they have been raising the fishing license every year for a few years so I figured it wouldnt be long before the hunting license started to come up. David_218
Re: license fees There are lots of States raising their hunting license/tag fees this year. Personally I think with the price of Gasoline going up as well as many other things; this is going to have a very negative affect on the sport of hunting. Most everyone's budgets are stretched to the limit to where they simply won't hunt. This will cause a revenue shortfall in States Budgets. carbonhunter
Re: license fees If i Buy every tag possible to hunt and fish in the state of ohio the cost comes to $257 I just realized Im paying that much to hunt/fish here??? hmmmmm........ohio's money goes into the general fund so its no wonder the license goes up and the wildlife funds get cut every year. elkoholic
Re: license fees Montana resident fees are also going up in '06 but I am not sure of the final number yet. This year I paid $109.00 to hunt and fish, including a Sportsmans license, which includes a conservation license, deer tag, elk tag, bear tag, upland birds and fishing, I also got an archery stamp, warm water fishing stamp and a turkey tag. Also included in that price was a $20.00 state land fee (good for the whole family) to hike and recreate on state owned land. There are other tags and permits available and you could easily push the final figure much higher. At this time I plan on purchasing an archery antelope tag and have hopes of drawing a moose tag (not very likely) which will push my total to close to $200.00. It is becoming a rich man's sport. JimPic
Re: license fees Bruce Smith, who chairs the fish & game committee said last week that there will be no license increase until the PGc earns its credibility back.He said he had received too many calls from hunters complaining about the lack of deer and the way the PGC is running it's deer management program.I read this in our local paper. David_218
Re: license fees [ QUOTE ] I sure do hope they don't jack up fees for PA, because my dad and I each spent $150 for nonresident doe, buck, and archery stamps last year. I do understand that game commissions need rising incoming revenue for some projects, but 50% in one blast...ease us into it at least. [/ QUOTE ] I HOPE I am wrong on this, but I believe that the various State's DNR are being taken over by the anti-hunting groups. These groups are very well funded and have lots of influcence. The only time they would be for the sport of hunting is if one of them plows their SUV's or BMW's into a Deer.

MUDRUNNER
Re: license fees I think last year in Illinois this is what i spent: 19.25 +5.00 for hunting/fishing liscence and habitat stamp.15.00 for federal waterfowl stamp and 10.00 for State waterfowl stamp.23.00 for two archery deer tags.15.00 for a muzzleloader deer tag and 2 shotgun deer tags at 15.00 a piece.15.00 for a spring shotgun turkey tag, which i applied for twice this year and still got turned down in the draw. And 5.00 for an fall archery turkey tag. That comes out to around $137.25 a year. Now that i add it up it does seem a little steep.
