Fullfan
Well maybe this will help, This will be my 15th year to hunt Missouri, I hunt in a national forest. On a good morning I will hear 20 turkeys gobble at daylight. I have never been bumped by another hunter, but I have seen a few. I go for ten days and tent camp. I have about 350.00 invested in this hunt. Here in Pa if you hear a turkey gobble so do five other guys. I have killed two birds every year (adult gobblers) in Missouri. Guest DaHunter
Re: Why Missouri and Kansas Well i imagain thats where most outfitters are located, and they give hunts too them. Thats my best guess....i live in central new york and getting a shot at a couple birds isnt much of a big deal either.
Rhino
Re: Why Missouri and Kansas We used to have 2 guys come from Missouri every year to turkey hunt our place in Mississipppi before their season opened. From the stories they told us there are a lot of birds in Missouri and they weren't nearly the educated, wary birds we deal with in Mississippi. I'll bet the success rate for birds killed for hours hunted in Missouri is one of the highest in the country. I really can't say anything about Kansas because I've never hunted there and don't know anyone that has.
Fullfan
Re: Why Missouri and Kansas And trust me I have done battle for five hours in Missouri, and when I killed the bird I found it to be just a 2 year old. Some are easy and some are not. But it comes down to it, there are a bunch of birds and a few hunters. I can't wait to go only about 35 days left to wait..
