AJ, that isn't always true. If you run a turbo setup at say 6.5 psi on a Civic, 200whp is possible, and with proper tuning, it can last upwards or 70k miles. This is of course assuming you have built it properly to start with. Now, a 1000hp Skyline isn't going to last more than 30-40,000 miles if that, simply because boost levels would be in excess of 28 psi. It isn't really the high rpm's that tear the motors up, its the high compression. Honda vtec engines are designed to run 8000 rpms all day long. However, when you couple 8000 rpms to 14 or 15:1 compression, its like controlling a hand grenade.
